Connor Beaton Speaks On What Emotional Intelligence Is & Why Men Need It

In celebration of Mens Mental Health Week, my guest for today is a firm believer that to achieve excellence in what you do, you must be effective at helping others achieve excellence in what they do. Connor Beaton is the founder of ManTalks, an event and online resource for men looking to get the most out of themselves. Its mission is to build better fathers, husbands, and leaders by connecting like-minded men across North America, inspiring them to be their best, and giving them the tools to do so.
In this episode, Connor shares the importance of life’s purpose, how you can find purpose through pain and suffering, and why men struggle with masculinity and vulnerability. Connor also talks about the things you can do to test someone’s masculinity so that they can deal with their pain from a place of authenticity, understanding, and vulnerability instead of suppressing it and the benefits of being a vulnerable man.
Connor reminds us that men are not immune to feeling vulnerable. Many men struggle with their emotions and may feel ashamed or embarrassed when they do so. This may be because they were raised in a culture that teaches them that showing emotions is not masculine or acceptable behavior.
